Curiosity Lab is a kids-sized, fun, hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) based discovery laboratory with programs designed for different age groups. We are passionate about giving children the space and opportunities to ask questions and open them to new ideas.

All classes will run Septt-Dec for Fall only programs,  Oct- Feb for Fall/Winter Sessions, Oct- June for Annual classes or as indicated.  Our class sizes are very small  to allow for personalized attention and registration spots are limited. Please sign up early to avoid disappointment.

Pre-School Labs

​Young children are naturally curious & love to fiddle with things. This class is specially designed for our young explorers. With a new theme each week we hang out with mommy, use our senses, mix, cook, stir, build and explore the world. The lab activities are integrated with reading, sensory development, songs and exploration to slowly develop confidence & encourage children to investigate independently.

Our Discovery LAB is designed for preschoolers in mind. Once a week allow them to explore, build, mix & dig. With a new theme every week - we set out to keep the spirit of adventure alive.  We will use hands-on activities, songs, storytelling and games to explore the world around us. 
This is a drop-off class so please use your discretion to decide if your child is ready. You can pick from Fall/ Winter or annual membership.

​The DaVinci Lab at Curiosity Lab is a kids-sized, fun, hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) based discovery laboratory for 3rd-5th Grade.

ROBOTICS CLASSES

INTRODUCTION TO ROBOTICS JR.
(6-9 years)

​ In "Introduction to Robotics Jr." we will explore the building blocks of robotics: electromagnetism, motors, machines, gear ratios and motion transmission before we delve into  simple programs using Lego  to build basic sensor-activated robots. This is Curiosity Lab's  foundation course for all things Robots! This will allow students to develop enough skill and confidence to take on advanced projects. Activities are designed to foster exploration, problem solving, critical thinking and group work. Group size is limited.

ADVANCED ROBOTICS CLUB
(9-13 years)

Advanced Robotics Club is for older kids or kids more advanced in Robot Design & programming. If your child has no prior experience, consider signing up for Introduction for Robotics Jr. as a first step.In Winter/Spring 2018 The Advanced Robotics Club will design, build and program robots using Mindstorms© EV3. We will work in teams to build projects, play games & compete with robots. This program has an additional fee​ due to Lego sorting costs.

We form one or twi teams for the. FLL Explore Season which rund Jan-April/May Only 6 students per team. Cost ​Includes meetings Field Trip, lego supplies, poster , registration for FLL Team, team t-shirts & registration/ participation in  Robotics Expo.. Must commit for the entire season & Expo.

  • We focus on faster methods & mental methods for number operations to build confidence.
  • We place emphasis on learning how to work with numbers based on their characteristics, numbers close to base and mental subtraction, multiplication, division etc.
  • For elementary level- our goal is to build high-quality core skills in math.
  • These classes will be small group in-person or online. SPACE IS VERY LIMITED
  • For Middle & High School students, classes may be small group or individualized based on availability & need.

​The joke goes that public speaking can become the worst fear in some people even above the fear of death. This Club focuses on building abilities in writing, thinking on your feet, speaking in front of small groups. We focus on learning how to break down and understand a topic, appreciating opposite opinions, exploring your thoughts on topic and then expressing them eloquently. We also focus on building writing abilities, memory skills, empathizing with contradictory opinions and building self-confidence.
In part of the year, we will also focus effort on creating a story line and writing and illustrating their own book. Whether this is your first effort or you are a seasoned writer, we will work on polishing our vocabulary and writing skills. 
​If you love art, want to stay organized, create clarity and wellness in life, set and achieve goals, writing things out helps you think clearly, this Club is for you. Unleash your creativity and hone your organization skills in the Bullet Journaling Club. We will plan, design and make the pages for the next month’s Journal in every meeting.
We will also discuss one topic on wellness or goal-setting tools each month. Have a teen in the house? Join together and use this as an opportunity to enrich both your relationship and goals in life.

In all our experiences with children, we have come to realize that true learning, focus and a sense of well-being cannot be external. It comes from within. Mindfulness in every task drives a certain focus that can take human beings to their true potential. Breath is the essence if our life. Yoga is the union with the reality of creation. In this class we tap into our inner strengths by building breath control, mindfulness and yoga with an interesting perspective to younger children.We use sound games, imagery, stretching, breathing with a goal to help them master their own body & emotions for greater focus.
  • This is for a very small group - more slots can be added for families or other groups interested.

On parent request, we are introducing open play time where you would have the freedom to come in for the open hour & pick an activity from the ones available that day & complete it under guidance. Some may be explorations or experiments and others building projects.  Activities are designed to foster exploration, problem solving, critical thinking and confidence.
Combine open play with yoga for some fun on Monday mornings for younger children.
